Candle Fire Interpretation

Every time you light a candle, you can interpret its flame, smoke, and melted wax. Here’s a simple but reliable method: mark the candle’s right side with a “yes” and left side with a “no.” If the first drop of wax flows down on the left side, the answer to your question is no. You can also watch the dancing of the candle fire or the spiral of its smoke.

1. If you light the candle at the first try, its flame is steady and quiet, you’ve chosen the right place to hold your ritual. If the flame is tall and strong, magic will have an effect quickly and efficiently. If you have trouble lighting the candle, outer forces will interfere in your work and prevent you from getting what you want.

2. If during the spell casting the flame is small and seems to be about to go out, there are some obstacles standing in your way and the situation may develop not the way you want it. The candle seems to be “failing” the task. A weak flame indicates instability, possible losses and troubles. Charge the candle with some warm energy to make it stronger. Maybe, you will have to clean your house and yourself, and then repeat the ritual.

3. If the flame of ritual or altar candles jumps, flickers, “dances,” the situation you are working on is heated. There are things which flare up tensions and inflame the passions, regardless of what we do. You will have to decide if it’s good or bad for you at the time being.

4. Using two candles, each symbolizing a certain man, watch closely their flames. If the flame of one of the candles is brighter and stronger, this person has powers and is gaining a victory of the other. If both flames are jumping and unsteady, both people have strong feelings for each other. You will have to decide whether it’s anger, hatred, or passion.

5. If the flame is of some odd color (green, blue, red), look what this color means in magic. Usually, it affects the ritual correspondingly. A blue flame indicates divine energy. If the candle is sparking, you should expect guests. If the soot blackens the glass, something thinks badly of you. You should clean the room. If the soot accumulates on the bottom of the candle case, something counteracts magic, and the results won’t come soon, or you will have to repeat the ritual. 6. The burning of a candle flame can be accompanied with strange sounds, resembling whisper or chatter. A quiet “chirp” indicates pure energy. A midrange “talk” may indicate threat or somebody’s power over the situation. Abrupt, loud sounds mean chaos, while crackling indicates counteraction.

7. Watch the flame direction: bending north, south, west, east, or burning strictly vertically. It indicates the energy surrounding you. Northerly direction indicates physical readiness to hold a ritual – you are ready to work and you’ll get results. You may also have to undergo physical trials. Easterly direction: something powerful assists you, the nature itself is helping you to get what you want, but you have to think about why it does it. Pay attention to your thoughts. Southerly direction: the result of your ritual will be tangible but won’t last long. You will enjoy great success. Westerly direction indicates a powerful magical interference from the outside. You will have to cast extra spells for purification and obstacles elimination, and then repeat the ritual. Pay attention to your emotions.

8. If the smoke is coming at you, your spell will take effect quickly. Otherwise, you will have to make efforts for your wish to come true.

A smoking candle indicates burning of all negative energy and clearance of the events relating to the fulfillment of your wish. After a while, if the way for the fulfillment of this wish is cleared, the candle flame will get brighter. If it doesn’t happen, the wish will come true much later.

A flickering flame indicates that you are not confident that you actually want your dream to come true.

If the flame is weak or goes down, your wish can’t be fulfilled in the nearest future. You have to give it up or reconsider, or figure out what caused this situation, or get energy from other sources. Maybe, you’ve put it wrong. Pay attention to your inner motivation.

If the candle burns away fast, fulfillment of your wish may require additional energy (maybe yours). Or it’s naturally determined, it’s what’s your fate has prepared for you, or it’s very simple.

If the candle explodes, give up your plans. The situation is highly dangerous and you should not upset the balance. Think about your wish, what you want to get and why. Consider its ethics.

If a drop of wax is going down the candle, meditate, as there is new information regarding your request.

If a drop of wax flies off, it’s called a “present.” It means fate has prepared a present for you… a good or a bad one.

Layers of wax which remain until the wick burns down indicate a problem which you will have to handle in future.

A hissing flame and other noises indicate an attempt of someone (angels, ancestors, etc.) to talk to you. Pay attention to your feelings.
